Safewise is “your source for Home Security and Safety advice.” This site offers a compilation of the resources and guides that can help make your community safer. They can help you choose a safety system for your home, pick out a carbon monoxide detector or give you information on the best security companies in the U.S. Their biggest goal is to help you find a security provider that is right for you and your family.
Disaster Safety
Disastersafety.org is the online home of the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety. They “conduct the research that leads to stronger buildings and communities.” They conduct research and experiments in order to find and promote the best ways to strengthen homes, businesses and communities against natural disasters. They do the research and then translate their findings into the steps home and business owners should take to protect themselves.
The Red Cross
The Red Cross not only helps those who have experienced a disaster, they try to offer the information that will help citizens prepare for disaster. On their website you can find where you can donate blood, volunteer or get training and certifications. But, you can also find articles on emergency preparedness.
